The surgery itself is a little peculiar but it was over very quickly. The surgeon and the nurses talked to me the whole way through which I found reassuring. My eyes felt uncomfortable that day even though I was resting with them closed and my goggles on. I don't think all the literature has prepared me for that - it just focussed on the fact that you can see 'straight away'. Yes you can, but it's uncomfortable to keep your eyes open that day. There's a lot to remember in the first week; 3 sets of drops 4 times a day, wear the goggles to sleep and no water near your eyes. However, one month on, all of that was worth it to have no need to wear my lenses or glasses!
