My husband booked the appointment to see if I was eligible for surgery, I had not thought wearing contact lenses a problem as I had been wearing them for over forty years. At the checkup I was told I was suitable and asked to book in, I wanted to give it further thought but my husband offered to pay for it if I booked in immediately. I did so and had the surgery a week later. I had not realised what I was missing for so long, its a joy to have the gift of sight. My husband knew I would not have the nerve to do it if he had not pushed me along and I am glad I did. My son and my nephew have both had the surgery on my recommendation and are delighted with the results. They both have better than 20 20 vision and do not need glasses for close work or distance. I was warned that due to my age (54) I might need reading glasses after the surgery for close work and I do but the joy of seeing distance and being able to drive at night outweighs that for me. My distance visision is now better than 20 20
