I had a very comprehensive pre-surgery eye test which put me at ease that my prescription was properly assessed. Surgery was quick (30 secs) but quite painful, but one thing that isn't mentioned is that the procedure gets easier as it goes along. Recovery for the first 4 hours was painful, and eased slightly by leaning forward, but after that time it was like a switch had been flung and my eyes felt considerably better. The next day it was just like a small bit of grit in my eye, and 2 weeks later no pain whatsoever. I now have 20:10 vision which is an improvement over my previous glasses use, and virtually no haloing from lights.
