I dont believe I was told in detail that I would need reading glasses immediately after surgery. I understood that as I got older my reading prescription would deteriorate but as I had perfect reading I was expecting this to happen in the future not immediately. Following surgery my reading prescription was terrible - I couldn't see in the mirror, read, cook or do my job. I am a personal assistant and need to read for 7 hours a day. This wasn't explained to me. I think because of my job someone should have explained that I would be wearing glasses more than before surgery. I feel I have swapped one problem for another but at an huge expense. I am pleased with how I can see distance wise but really thought I would have both reading and distance. I know people who had worse vision than I and can see perfectly now. I thought I would be the same.
