Ordered a new rooftop vent for our motorhome. Got confirmation it was ready for pickup. I thought I may not be able to get to their warehouse in time so phoned ahead and they advised that as I have already paid then they would leave it in a safe place for me to collect if I arrived after 5:00pm - great service :) However, after arriving just before 5:00 I went in to collect my vent and the extremely helpful guy at the counter went out the back to find it. 10 minutes later (now after 5:00) he comes back and tells me he can not find it but if I can wait he will take a look for it in the warehouse. I agreed and went back to the motorhome to wait as they were closing the shop front. 10 minutes later the guy comes out of the warehouse (it is now raining) and informs me that even though their stock inventory shows one in stock he can not find it and suggests that maybe someone had sent it out as the wrong product to a customer. He then offered me a few options 1/ He could have it in stock next week for me 2/ He could refund it 3/ I could select a different vent 4/ Their supplier has them in stock so if I was going north I could pick one up from them directly. Well, as my current vent was being held together with sikaflex and more rain was forecast, I picked the quickest option and choose to pick it up for their supplier. Arrived at their supplier in the morning and was handed the exact vent I had ordered. Happy that I had my vent but a little sad that the person who was tasked to pick it from the warehouse did not advise the office that the item was not physically there - could have saved me quite a number of Km's and a few hours. Will definitely shop from Outback Equipment again :)
