My suitcase with my clothing was sent to
me in Bali by my daughter. The information provided by Parcel Compare to Indonesian Customs was incorrect. As a consequence it was classed as a commercial consignment. Customs consequently wanted a huge array of information that I could not comply with. Things like packing lists and commercial invoices (plus ten other compliances) that were inappropriate given that it was not a commercial shipment. Parcel Compare did nothing to rectify their error. The suitcase was subsequently destroyed by customs. I had insured it for £2,000 through Parcel Compare. Although the replacement cost is over £3,000. I was toldI couldn’t claim on insurance because I failed to comply with customs protocols. It was a complete “f” up on the part of Parcel Compare and they are now saying case closed despite having agreed to have the suitcase returned
