The PDSA does what they can with the volume of animals needing reduced-cost care. This includes many people who abuse the system and use their friend's or relative's benefits to get in. Unfortunately this leaves many gaps in care, especially preventive (like vaccines, neutering, dental). You will NOT receive the quality of care that you would from a private vet. PDSA is best for euthanasia, and if you have an animal that needs putting to sleep and cannot afford to go elsewhere, this is the place to contact. Private vets are required to provide first aid (pain relief or euthanasia) if you cannot get into the PDSA for some reason, remind a private vet of this.
