It makes me laugh that this asks "what went wrong" - it would be quicker to say "what went well".
The sales team lied to us about our property on multiple counts, and Persimmon aren't even going to investigate this. I can't even get an apology, let alone any form of compensation. The snags list is still being worked through 12 months later. I have had to take so many days off of work for their contractors to let me down time and time again. Some of the "finishing touches" are a disgrace. I had to pay £600 to not have integrated appliances in the kitchen (or £1200 to have integrated appliances) - I don't understand why the kitchen isn't completed as standard with the option to upgrade to this? It is a con to have to pay one or the other. I shouldn't have to pay for a gate to close off my garden either, but had to pay over £250 for this. Other properties didn't pay but got them fitted anyway. I was told that if I don't pay, I would have a gap in the fence where the gate would be.
I could go on for hours about how terrible Persimmon Homes are, and have treated me. I have just written an 8 page complaint to the MD of the southern region and I am currently pending a response - I doubt very much that anything will come from this.
