I am only 4 1/2hrs travel from Melbourne, yet because I am just over the border in South Australia adoption is not considered. Here in S.A small dogs are extremely few and far between. My partner and I are retired pensioners and we cannot take on large dogs for good reason. A small companion dog is appropriate for our situation. Over the years in the past we have had our lives enriched with 3 rescued cats and 3 dogs. We chose to give rescues a home but with the way adoptions are conducted pensioners/retirees are left behind both in acessibility for interstate adoptions and also with fees, are seniors rates acknowledged?
