If someone were to ask me about Pets Best my response would be "Eh". The insurance is adequate. It covers most of the big ticket items. What's wrong with pets best? They take FOREEEEVVVEEEERRRRR to process anything (except payment, they get that through promptly every time). They also seem to hunt down any loophole they can find. One of my dogs had to have a tooth extracted because of a growth (this cost me $1200). Pets best denied the claim because my dog hasn't had her teeth cleaned under general anesthesia in the past 13 month. First of all, my dog got her teeth cleaned 6 months ago, she's just super chill and doesn't need anethesia. Second of all, per our vet, the growth had nothing to do with the cleanliness of her mouth. Let's revisit the prior statement though that she did in fact have her teeth cleaned 6 months ago. Moral of the story, if you can wait weeks on end to get reimbursement, want insurance that requires you to take unnecessary risks with your pets well being and will still look for any possible loophole to avoid paying out, pets best is great. I for one will begin looking for a new insurer, preferably one that doesn't require me to take unnecessary risks like anesthesia for routine things.
