When I started thinking about getting a new puppy this summer, I knew I would need a good pet insurance policy. It had been over 10 years since the last time I looked into getting pet insurance and with all the issues I had with my previous dog's insurance company, I knew I needed to find a different & better company this time. I was shocked at how many options & companies offering pet insurance there were compared to 10 years ago. I was easily able to compare handfuls of companies and finally decided on PetsBest. I have had to submit a handful of claims already and can say I've mostly been happy so far.
However, I have also come across submitting claims thru the app to be a big issue. I can fill out all the information and attach the invoices, but when I go to submit the claim I always get an error preventing me from actually submitting the claim. I then have to redo the entire claim using the website, which then I have no issues submitting my claim. It would be much easier and more convenient if submitting thru the website would actually work properly and I wouldn't be stuck doing double the work.
I also have issues with the time claims are finished processing. Every single claim has ended up taking almost a month to finish being reviewed & processed. This constant delay in processing claims has left me with multiple claims in at once. I do receive automatic emails apologizing for the delay in processing claims, but after this being a consistent trend with PetsBest, it does make me a little nervous if my dog ends up having a serious & expensive issue! If it takes several weeks just to process a small basic claim, I can't even imagine the time it would take for a more involved claim. This could leave customers in financial limbo, which could result in the decline of their pet's health or cause a delay in another necessary procedure for their insured pet until they are get reimbursed. When I signed up for this policy, I was expecting to have such issues submitting claims thru the app and then almost a month for the company to process a single claim (this delay does Not include the time it takes PetsBest to pay out the claim once it's processed).
