I have both Pets Best and Nationwide Insurance for my four dogs. Nationwide does not require nearly as much documentation from the veterinarians, nor do they ask me to follow up with the vet's office to get documents as Pets Best has done. The claim processing time is substantially less with Nationwide (Nationwide generally pays me within a week from filing the claim while Pets Best is taking 30 to 40 days to just process each claim). I also had a drug be excluded at Pets Best due to not being on their formulary list. I have no idea why this drug would not be included on their list since it is a commonly used veterinary drug. Nationwide has never denied any of my claims. Additionally, Pets Best sent me an email saying that one of my claims was a duplicate when it wasn't. This mistake on their part required me to spend my time following up with Pets Best to make sure both claims were processed. The only reason that I chose Pets Best for my new puppies was their high rating on the Forbes list. I am regretting this decision.
