Expected better. PetsBest denied my claim for surgery, stating my puppy has a preexisting condition. I picked him up at 8-weeks old, and the first mention/diagnosis was several months after my policy waiting period had ended. This should have been covered. This surgery would have satisfied my annual deductible to help cover additional claims, however because of the denial, I'm still paying the full cost for all vet bills. Pets Best had significant delays processing my initial claim but gave me only 2-weeks to gather documentation and medical records, contact my vet, and submit an appeal. The appeal process is extremely slow (90 days), and conveniently I will not have an answer until after my policy renews and the annual deductible resets. Feels more like a scam than a benefit. I could have saved the $100/month as an emergency fund than pay an insurance company to deny me... Unfortunately, I can't even change insurance companies now because these conditions would become pre-existing. I wish I had just gone with Truepanion.
