Coverage is fine. No complaints on the customer service staff I’ve talked to. Overall it is a routine pet policy.
My issue is that claims that are eligible are still taking about a month to process. I had to complain to get an eligible claim reimbursed. Any policy changes despite claim status for the policy term require cancel rewrites which means you are locked in to you plan if you have covered conditions. It is hard to speak with a person. Their claims department offers no option to pre-auth or review claim line items prior to large procedures so coverage is a guessing game.
Another issue is the company thrives due to reaaaally low premiums at inception. Beware of the increase. It is standard in insurance to see increases over time due to pet’s age, breed, and location but these increases are beyond standard. I went from 60$ for two dogs and now I pay close to 160$ now. Again, for insurance this is fine but just know each year you will see a higher than average increase.
Product works. I just wish there was more flexibility in terms of under writing request and claim handling.
