Works awesome just like you think it would. I feel like the joysticks are closer to a nintendo switch than a standard controller however. If you arent a fan of that, might not like it. My RIGHT TRIGGER also has an annoying click, the replacement i received also has the click while the left does not. This is only an issue when not using headphones or trying to play in bed with a sleeping wife. Customer service however was awesome in resolving the issue with me. Since iphone 13 came out my 13 pro no longer fits in the backbone. Had to pay $5 shipping for a piece of plastic but it fits better now. I would still await a revision if you want this for your phone with the giant camera bump.
