Functionally - the Backbone is everything it says it is. The controller is built well, fits the phone perfectly, and no real configuration is needed. It really is just plug and play.
The companion app could use a little bit of work; it's an ambitious effort to cram as much value into a single app as possible, but there are a few tiny idiosyncrasies that keep it from being a killer.
