The Backbone One is a really nice controller for my Android phone. I've played Retroarch games with it and Steam Play with it not missing a beat. Feels good to hold and is pretty light given the small size. It is a little cumbersome to get the phone in/out of the controller but isn't a huge issue. While my phone didn't have this concern (a Galaxy S9), a friend with a newer Pixel phone had a little difficulty with the camera bump. Your mileage may vary depending on the camera but it looks like they did a decent job trying to support many phones. I had no interest in the Backbone Android app though and doesn't seem to be required, with just losing the functionality of two of the buttons by not having it (a screenshot button and a button to open the app). Looking forward to using it on future long-distance flights!
