Small pellets. I had been using pond sticks. This food was recommended by the koi farm that maintains my small koi pond. I have 8 koi and 4 goldfish. The goldfish were able to manage these pellets better than the sticks. The koi seemed to like them. I gave 1/4 cup on first feeding but that seemed too much. I will use less next feeding. I bought the 15 pound bag which will last quite awhile. I poured it into a 25 pound dog food container for keeping.
