The owners/developers are making this game a gambling game. Their top grossing game is in fact a straightforward gambling game but JJ was very profitable too, and they are ruining it by making it impossible to play without spending quite a lot of money and without a guaranteed return. To entice people into gambling is morally wrong, and it also destroys the pleasure people have taken in the game up till now. Seems like a lose lose to me.
