The initial promised visit didn't take place, and I had to ring again to find out what was going on.
The result was a call that evening from a plumber from a different area who had been asked to remedy the situation. He promised a time of arrival the next morning which he kept to (particularly commendable as he had a very long journey to reach me ), and worked competently and efficiently to rectify the problem and to check the heating system as a whole - beyond the call of duty, I felt!
He was excellent, and fully compensated for the previous day's mess-up.
