I ordered 11 items totalling £153.88 from you on 16th December. All of these items were advertised as “Arrives in time for Christmas”. When selecting delivery options, the ‘standard’ delivery estimated arrival between 19/12-22/12 for 10 of the items (Delivery 1) and between 20/12-25/12 for 1 item which was personalised (Delivery 2). I received an email saying ‘your order has been dispatched’ on Wed 20/12 and Delivery 2 then arrived on 21/12. Had this item not arrived in time for Christmas I would have been disappointed but not complaining given the estimate given and with the item being personalised. I received another email on Thurs 21/12 saying ‘your order has been dispatched’. However, NONE of the other 10 items have arrived yet today (24/12) leaving me unable to give my family their presents tomorrow. Using the Track My Delivery option from the email, I can see the following chain of events: Thurs 16:18 We’re expecting your parcel Thurs 18:34 Sorted at regional depot Thurs 19:21 Centrally sorted Fri 01:01 Sorted at regional depot Fri 02:59 For delivery today (8:00am - 8:00pm) Fri 05:05 Sorted at regional depot After the parcel did not arrive on Friday, I called Hermes and the automated phone service they offer which said my parcel would arrive ‘in the next two working days’, and advised to call the retailer for issues with items not arriving. I then tried the contact number from your email to find that you were already closed and the message state that opening hours are only Mon-Fri anyway. I am extremely dissatisfied with this service given the amount of money I have spent with you. I understand that it is a busy time of year for deliveries and you have a delivery estimate of between those dates, but the items should not be advertised as arriving in time for Christmas if you can’t guarantee that, or at the least contact the customer to explain that they won’t arrive and why. Alternatively, if there is only a guarantee of next day delivery is paid extra for, that should be made clear. Feel free to contact me via email.
