I parked in the main airport parking area. I've done this on a number of visits to Lpl before. On entry I was directed to zones E & F (I think). I've always assumed this was because earlier zones were full. I've done this before and have never seen any spaces on the way. This time I spotted a space close to the multistorey car park. This was very convenient, so parked in this space. On return, when trying to exit the car park, I was unsuccessful and called for assistance. I was told that I'd parked in the wrong zone and needed to pay a surcharge of £20. Whilst I accept that I didn't park in the zones indicated, there wasn't any information to suggest that a surcharge was payable for parking elsewhere - in the same car park. I had seen, on previous visits, a separate segregated zone adjacent to the terminal, which I took to be a premium option. My parking confirmation, on 3/8/25 at 18.28, ref-JRHJPS made no mention of any surcharge for parking in, what appeared to be, an open zoned car park. Needless to say this soured my experience of parking through Purple Parking. I'll be looking at offsite parking, with transport to and from the airport, on future holidays with Jet2.
