Did you know they used to make the water tank out of glass? Could have been plastic free… And is the tank supposed to hold 40 or 44 ounces of water? The fill line is 44 ounces which will fill the stubby little thermal carafe to just millimeters from spilling over (pro-tip: 42 ounces is the middle of the full circle – 1190 grams). Speaking of, the thermal carafe is probably the worst part of this set-up. Too top heavy, prone to dribbling, have to invert it completely to get those last drops out, and make sure you have the pour spout/handle screwed on very well. Oh, and cleaning it? Hope you have tiny hands to get in there.
