The new coffee dripper overflowed again yesterday, and it's made me seriously question whether I should keep this coffee maker. We've purchased both the original Ratio Eight and the redesigned version. The original had to be replaced three separate times due to a variety of issues—malfunctions, paint peeling, blown electrical fuses, and failed pumps. Ratio eventually offered us a discount on the new model, but after still spending nearly $300 out of pocket for the replacement, I don't feel that was an appropriate resolution. Given the repeated failures of the original machine, I believe the redesigned model should have been provided as a warranty replacement. Now we're left with a machine that uses more plastic than the original and a redesigned brew basket that still clogs or overflows. Between the two machines and all of the issues along the way, we've spent well over $1,500 on Ratio products - as we’ve bought the thermal carafe. The coffee is excellent when everything works, but the ownership experience has been incredibly expensive and frustrating. At this point, we probably would have been better off buying a beautiful piece of art for the countertop and a Moccamaster for making coffee.

Good in general but it’d be better if there’s preservation of the coffee temperature

Quiet, easy to operate, fits well under the counter. Makes great coffee, perfect for two coffee drinkers in the morning. If you’re in Portland, drop by the ratio shop. Great people, walked me thru all the options.

Does not keep it warm any longer than the glass carafe.

It’s cheaply built compared to the Ratio 8. The coffee grind basket clogs and the drip hole is too small. If we didn’t have our old carafe we’d be out of luck. I honestly have been considering sending this thing back. We only bought it because we were offered 75% off - which is still too much. This was due to 3 returns on our old Ratio 8. The entire experience has been a money pit. We probably have over $1300 in a coffe maker….a pour over at that.

I am using the Tatio Carafe Heat lid with a 10 cup Chemex it it is perfect. I keeps the coffee warm and make pouring easy. I highly recommend the Ratio Carafe Heat lid Lid: 5 stars!

So far I absolutely love my Ratio Eight series 2. It makes remarkable coffee and has fabulous curb appeal. I rate it at 4.5 out of 5!

I love the overall unit. HOWEVER, the new-and-improved thermal carafe is less than impressive.

Great machine and it received a firmware update will hopefully prevent it from overheating again.

The ratio 4 coffee brewer is a morning routine game changer! It's almost too easy. The separate water resovoir is genius. No more spilling water all over the coffee machine. I prep the coffee in the evenings and all I have to do when I wake up is walk into the kitchen and hit the brew button. And four minutes later I have an incredible cup of coffee. And I have a cup leftover to take to work in my travel mug so I don't have to stop at the big green mermaid anymore. If you're a single person like me it's honestly the perfect coffee setup. Saves me time in the mornings and it's already saved me a ton of money. My only complaint is the coffee isn't as hot as other brewers I owned in the past but that one small negative is greatly outweighed by all the positives of the Ratio 4.

Not having a thermal carafe or a heated surface to keep coffee warm on a $600 coffee maker is kind of ludicrous and I’m not paying 120 bucks for a thermal carafe.

Really feel like I wasted money on this. You can’t remove the coffee Pot without holding the part that holds the grinds to brew… and no warming station so the coffee gets cold fast.

At best two stars. Attractive, no doubt, but if you like hot coffee don't bother with it. It's just above luke warm. The lid on the carafe is also a problem: it's removable but unfortunately it's easy to forget that it's on when time comes around to brew. Creates a major mess since nothing gets through the lid into the caraffe. Now I'll find out how difficult it is to return the thing.

I do not have it in my possession as of yet. You guys don’t ship to Hawaii so I had to have it sent to a friends place in Santa Cruz. He should be arriving with it within the next few days. At that time, I can let you guys know what I think

Beautiful, amazing coffee, but no burner was a surprise I wasn't ready for. I didn't even know that was an option with coffee pots.

I like my ratio 8 -- overall the coffee has been good. But the issue I have is that a lot of the times that I make 7 or 8 cups of coffee the coffee spill over the filter and grounds seeps under the filter. I am wondering if there was an issue with the design and if other people have experienced similar issues.
