I purchase this dripper for my Ratio 6 S2. It function well with mixed results. We use If you care 8-12 cup basket filters and pour over grind size for the beans. Normally, my wife and I brew 6 cups but, for the holidays our kids came home so we made the maximum 8 cups. When brewing the max, the dripper stalled causing the dripper to overflow all over the counter; not a great start to Christmas morning. It does not happen when less than 6 cups is brewed. Secondly, a handle should be added because the dripper exterior is still hot after the ready cycle ends making it necessary to wear oven gloves to remove it from the carafe and it is too large to hold with one hand. To end, the dripper is high quality and appears to be engineered to last a long timeb; I wish it would make the full 8 cups.

Hello! thanks for the input - we can assist you to be able to brew a full 8 cup dose! We find there are usually two causes to overflow: grind is too fine, or the paper filters are thin and stopping up the flow of coffee at the bottom of the filter. We will email you some further details as we have thousands of people brewing full batches with this filter without any issue. Stand by!

Produces amazing coffee. I appreciate that no plastic ever touches the water. However, the machine feels extremely cheap. Lightweight plastic body, no handle on the brew basket, lightweight wood stained walnut that actively detracts from a premium feel. The thermal carafe feels like it could survive a nuclear war. I wish the brewer itself was constructed with the same level of thought and concern. I’m not going to return it because it does make a good pot of coffee, but I expected much much more from a $700 drip brewer and I would never recommend the purchase to anyone. I’m leaving a 3 star because it does what it says and produces good coffee, but I regret the purchase at this price point.

Really disappointed in the temperature of the freshly made coffee and the heat retention in the thermal carafe. Never seems warm enough if I add any cream.

We are enjoying our new ratio as we did with our previous Ratio 8 which we had for 10 years. We are very happy to have such a reliable coffee machine and great tasting coffee each morning!

I'm blown away by how bad the Ratio Six Coffee Machine White is. We've had a Cuisinart coffee maker for over 15 years, and it cost less than $100, but it crushes this machine in every way. Here's where the Ratio Six falls short: 1. The water pouring area lid is super loose, doesn't feel like it fits right. 2. The connection between the dipper and the top where you put the coffee is loose, creates a gap that makes a mess with the vapor and needs extra wipe downs. 3. The collecting pot and lid are loose too, doesn't feel sturdy. 4. The boost, brew, and ready indicators are pointless. 5. Brewing takes way longer than it should. 6. There's no warmer, which is a major bummer. 7. The coffee brews at a ridiculously low temp. 8. The white plastic looks and feels super cheap. Honestly, I'd return this thing in a heartbeat. The Cuisinart still kicks its butt.

Worked well and resolved issues with short-cycling and error codes. Recommend regular use to keep Ratio brewers clean and operational. V

We were really excited to receive this “non toxic” all glass and steel water parts coffee maker. It is beautiful and also very elegant. To learn that it does not have a warming pad and that the coffee once brewed gets cold so quickly was real bummer. We are keeping the unit and ordering the “thermal stainless vessel” however really bummed we have to take coffee and warm it in a microwave so quickly after it’s brewed. As a microwave we are also trying to exit out of our home in efforts to get more natural.

New shower head represents some improvement over original design, i.e., improved extraction, but it addresses only one of several deficiencies present in the Ratio 4, e.g., location of the START button (erroneous location cannot be mitigated by changing sensitivity) and difficult-to-clean basket (plastic material and large fins; stainless steel, please!).

The product page for the Eight Series 2 makes no mention of the aluminum boiler. This omission was shown on a different page, which applies to all their coffee makers. I returned the unit unopened as I will never make coffee that heats the water in aluminum.

Keeps coffee at a nice temp for a good stretch but requires preheating the interior with hot water before brewing. The carafe has a nice weight to it, but it feels imbalanced, almost excessively heavy. Pouring is a bit awkward, especially when getting the last of the coffee out. This flaw when pouring appears to be related to the spout design and the trade-offs made to accommodate the base of the dripper, heating area of the Ratio Eight itself, and volume of the carafe. Also the standard Chemex filters that fit the Ratio Eight glass carafe are an inch or so too tall for the dripper and this thermal carafe. Overall, I am happy with how hot coffee now stays hot for much longer, and can overlook the minor downsides of the carafe and dripper. Whether or not this will be worth the extra cost is dependent on individual preference and budget.

Honestly, I am so bummed out about this thing. It took so long to get and I finally get it and I did not realize and had no idea that it does not have a hot plate. My husband is more or less furious with me that I would buy an $800 coffee pot that can’t keep it hot longer than 15 minutes. I really want to return it, but I’m unsure of the return policy.

Hi Chandler, we’re so sorry to hear you’re disappointed. We chose not to include a hot plate because keeping coffee on continuous heat can quickly affect its flavor, and our goal is to preserve the taste and quality from the first cup to the last. You have 30 days from delivery to decide if you’d like to keep your Ratio. If you’d like to start a return, you can fill out our quick online return form.
