I regularly camp on remote stations in the Flinders Ranges South Australia for Rogaining events. I use a recycled mat under my tent. I absolutely love it. There are often nasty prickles and burrs. The mat is thick enough to protect tent and feet, it gives me a comfortable footprint to move around on and put gear in the vestibules. I can wiggle tent pegs between the weave without damaging the mat. This weekend there was significant rain in a short period. The mat allowed the water to drain through and while was wet on top the tent remained dry because there was also a groundsheet between. Surrounding area quickly turned to red mud but again the mat prevented the tent becoming muddy. A crucial piece of kit for car/van camping. Great company to order from also.
