I still find it difficult to put my experience into words. I had booked a bus trip because - based on the indication regarding available seats on the RegioJet website - I expected it to be less crowded than a plane/airport and therefore a safer way of traveling home during the Coronacrisis. It seems, however, that many sold tickets are not registered on the website. The bus was not only nearly full, many people were not (properly) wearing face masks. In fact, the last row was filled with 4 or so men drinking hard liquor and screaming/spitting through the bus. I figured I could escape the uncomfortable feeling by taking the seat I had booked and which had been surrounded by empty seats on RegioJet's website. This, however, was not the case: my seat was taken, so where almost all others and the drivers told me to simply take a seat wherever I could find one. As the remaining seats were exclusively next to people refusing to properly wear their PPE, I decided to unboard the bus before the trip had started. As an aside, the bus was also already 45 minutes late after supposedly 5h of driving. I am not sure how much that delay increased on the remaining 12h, but I must imagine that it worsened.
