I rang RIAS twice to ask how adjustments to my cover would affect the quoted premium, such as altering my voluntary excess and removing the separate optional excess insurance.
On both occasions the person I spoke to was unhelpful and condescending.
In the end the only way I could tailor my quote was by going online and seeking an entirely fresh quote.
In the end I did stay with RIAS although they were not quite the cheapest option, mainly because starting afresh with them also offered me the bonus of an online account with them that hopefully will give me a better renewal experience next year. Also their web site is clear and straightforward.
In short, the web experience was good, the humans less so.
