After driving all the way from Cornwall to Rodgers in Brixham for a rear Inner light for a Kia, i was told they wanted a whopping £407.70 plus fitting. I asked how long it would take as i didn't wanted to avoid any rain getting in and they said it would take 1-2 days for it to arrive. I stupidly paid for the part thinking it would be done relatively quickly. A week had passed and I hadn't heard from them so i rang them to find out the part had arrived. The guy said it had (thanks for waiting 7 days before telling me). I then asked when i could book it in for fitting and they said it would be 3 weeks!
At this point i'd had enough and did some investigating and found the genuine part brand new for £65 online. After seeing this I tried to cancel the order which took a lot of messing around and 3 days of my valuable time. After i finally managed to get them to ring me back they had to the cheek to charge me £50 for the honor.
I appreciate they have to make money but to mark up parts by nearly 400% is absolutely disgusting and a complete rip off. Save yourselves a huge amount of money and go to a local garage who aren't trying to rip you off and more importantly actually care.
