Defective by Design, Abysmal Customer Service - A Nightmare Experience I am writing this review as a warning to any potential Rointe customer, be it a homeowner or a fellow property developer. My experience with their D-Series heaters and their UK support team has been nothing short of a disaster, revealing a product with a fundamental design flaw and a company that refuses to stand by its faulty workmanship. I purchased two Rointe D-Series heaters, trusting the brand's reputation for quality. Within the first year, one of the heaters began to malfunction, spontaneously rebooting every minute. To their credit, at that time (January 2021), Rointe acknowledged this was a known fault and sent a replacement control panel under warranty, which fixed the issue. Fast forward to this year, and the exact same fault has occurred again in the first heater, and now the second heater is malfunctioning in precisely the same way. These heaters are only used for three months of the year, meaning they have failed after just a few months of cumulative use. For comparison, my previous electric heaters from a different brand lasted over a decade without a single issue. When I contacted Rointe support, I was informed that the heaters were now just outside their 3-year electrical warranty. Despite the clear evidence of a recurring manufacturing defect that they had previously acknowledged, they quoted me an insulting £360 + VAT + carriage to fix the two faulty units. This is not a wear-and-tear issue; it is a clear failure of a core component that points to shoddy workmanship. A premium product should not fail twice in such a short period of operational use. The customer service experience has been equally abysmal. Emails are often unsigned, coming from a generic "UK & IE Technical Support Technician," which makes the process feel impersonal and unaccountable. After I expressed my extreme dissatisfaction and laid out the history of the fault, I was told on November 18th, 2024, that my case was being passed to a manager for review and that they would be in touch. I never heard from them again. This complete lack of follow-up is unprofessional and shows a total disregard for customer satisfaction. As a property developer, I have always sought out reliable and high-quality fixtures for my projects. I initially chose Rointe for my own home and recommended them for my properties. I have now instructed all of my contractors to never use or recommend a Rointe product again. I will be replacing my units with a more reliable brand and will make sure to share this experience widely online. If you are considering Rointe, I urge you to look elsewhere. The products are unreliable, inefficient, and in the event of a problem, you will be met with a brick wall of unhelpful and unresponsive customer service. Avoid this brand at all costs.
