15 days for a card to get from Brittany, it only took 2 days for the result of the battle of Waterloo to reach London (no trains, planes, automobiles, or powered ships)! No extra deliveries over Xmas period like the good old days before privatisation, many cards delivered too late. Previously received 2 letters, both posted a week earlier, on the same day - one from Australia and the other England!
