Not so much a Royal Mail recorded delivery service, more a bad joke at the customers expense. Specifically the Royal Mail are taking the customers money and not providing the timely assurance paid for.
I sent a letter sent first class recorded delivery. Over a week later the Royal Mail site still says "we will update once delivery has been attempted". First class post recorded delivery service and over a week later the Royal Mail has not attempted delivery? I bet they do not put that in their service stats to the regulator.
Also, their statement is completely untrue. Delivery has been attempted and successfully made. I know that the cheque was delivered successfully, and obviously some days ago, as it has been banked and cashed. Not that the Royal Mail told me. Fortunately my bank is more efficient (and honest).
