I was a little skeptical and nervous about sending my airbag module through the mail to be factory reset and serviced. However, I decided to trust Safety Restore after buying the airbag reset service for about $30 on eBay. They kept in good communication and turned around the service within a week. When I re-installed and connected my airbag module in my 2016 Nissan Altima, I still had to use an ODB-II device to clear the ECM codes, but after I did that, the airbag module showed proper function when I start the car after I had replaced all of the deployed airbags. Keep in mind that it is ok to run the car without the airbag module installed, but not safe to drive (as the airbags cannot deploy in an accident without the airbag module installed and properly functioning). However, I still needed to move my vehicle in and out of the garage while I waited for the airbag module to get back to me. But you definitely want the battery to be disconnected when you are connecting the yellow connections to the airbag module. I feel a lot better now after Safety Restore cleared the crash data from my airbag module and I would definitely use them again if I ever need their services.
