Sainsbury's Home Delivery, great concept. But if only they could follow through on the promise.
I'm a regular online shopper, but my most recent online order with Sainsbury will be my last order with Sainsbury.
Apparently, the more you order, the more you frustrate the delivery guys. And Damn you to starve in Hell if you happen to live above the first floor in a building without a lift. Sainsbury's policy is to deliver to the first floor max. It's up to you to manage the rest. (This policy meshes especially well with bagless delivery.)
Call me a demanding customer, but when I order (on average) £100-125 of groceries at a time, I don't think its too much to expect home delivery to mean my doorstep, not my downstairs neighbor's doorstep. On top of this, I usually tip the delivery person too.
Note to Sainsbury; Know your market. London is full of affluent neighbourhoods of 2-3 storey building and the majority of them do not have lifts.
Ocado, on the other hand, is happy to deliver right to your door. They have all my business from now on.
