I bought a £10 voucher at Sainsbury’s and when I tried to redeem it on Skype it turned out to be out of date. When I went to the customer service they refused to change the voucher or give me a refund because the transaction was successful. They said I should contact Skype. Skype confirmed that the voucher had expired and sent me the confirmation and the expiry date.
I went back to the customer service, spoke to the manager, and they gave me another voucher ‘as a gift’ as they said. I had the same problem with it.
I phoned the central office and all they said was because the transaction was successful they couldn’t refund the money. I asked them, if you buy faulty goods can you not return them because the transaction was successful? I couldn’t get any sense from them.
I wrote a letter to the complaint department with copies of the receipt and emails from Skype and sent it by special delivery 6 weeks ago. I got no response.
I don’t expect to get my money back and I wasted so much time! At least I want to warn other people. This is the way they deal with customers.
