Samsung products are very often great - when they work. But when you have a problem, watch out!
After two experiences (really three), one with a laptop and another with a monitor, I am swearing off anything that has a Samsung warranty. They will do anything to either keep you from getting service, or wanting to charge you plenty for service.
The third experience was a question about a feature of a new $1,000 LED TV. I called with a simple question, and they didn't have a clue. 30 minutes of poking through the menus later, I figured it out.
All and all, this does not bode well for Samsung. Luckily there are other providers of all this stuff.
I will still (possibly) buy a used Samsung product, when I don't expect any real customer service, and can absorb the loss. But otherwise, forget it.
I'm a tech specialist and recommend technology to my friends and clients. So Samsung, you are losing more customers than just me with this behavior.
