SOUNDBAR PRIVACY BREACH.
Someone in my building is unknowingly or knowingly connecting to my K450 Samsung soundbar. It's a 24/7 issue. It's gotten crazy. I have to leave it unplugged all day. I pretty much spent that hard earned dollar on an expensive cumbersome paperweight.
The soundbar turns on by itself. A "B03 Lite" device overridess whatever setting I have it on... D.IN, HDMI, USB, TV. Again, no matter the setting B03 Lite hijacks my soundbar. It'll be in the middle of the night, I'm fast asleep... all of a sudden my sound bar turns on and porn movie audio comes blasting through.
Samsung refused to remedy the issue. My warranty ran out in February. Which means I pay out of pocket for everything. Their support guy recommended I buy a newer model soundbar from them or pay to have someone look at and possibly fix my current one. I say possibly cause the kat on the phone couldn't tell me if it was something that could be fixed. So much for Samsung support. More like me "supporting" them at stealing my money.
Doesn't seem right. Seems like it should fall under a factory recall. It's an issue that's been there this whole time they just didn't test for it or chose to ignore it. If they did choose to ignore it... to me that's a big security and privacy breach issue.
Because the soundbar can so easily connect to someone else's device with out me giving any sort of permission wouldn't that be a security and privacy issue? Something that they should address and fix without the consumer paying for it?
Think about it. Maybe your Samsung soundbar is connecting to someone else's device without you knowing. You've pretty much given a complete stranger access to your private life. I'm not technically savvy so I don't know... but couldn't they use that soundbar to eavesdrop? Something to think about.
Thank you kindly,
