First I would like to say how well made this kilt is ... and handsome; But ... I measured so that it would fit on my hips, however the waist band is so wide and stiff that it wants to naturally sit on the waist (higher) .. which means it is too large. In retrospect you should plan for it to fit on the waist (high). The material is high quality .. but very stiff .. so sitting will crease the pleats.. and although the fit is perfect on the hip measurement there is a noticeable crease/pull across the front (otherwise flat) panel. I am hoping that some wearing will 'break it in' ... I really do like the kilt .. just not the fit so much on myself.
