i had ordered a 3 seat parker knowle recliner from the Bedford branch. Wife went in 8 weeks later to ask when it would be delivered. While waiting for an answer she looked at the model we had chosen.It was marked up as a sale item,but on the other side of the label it stated recliners were a higher price. wife asked sales person to check what we had ordered. It was written down as 3 STR. She asked if that meant recliner and was told no,we would have to pay double for a recliner. I explained that we sat with a salesman and told him I was 68 years old and needed a recliner to adjust to my back. I offered to buy a more expensive sofa and could they transfer the deposit to the one I chose and they refused. 14 months later after many phone calls, resolver,emails to the equity company that was a major shareholder, I got the deposit back. I have never ,ever had so much trouble with a company in my life ! I am a pretty straight forward, trusting ex serviceman,who has worked for big companies for many years. I am finding that these companies who appear to have watertight contracts, are run on USA " Never give a sucker an even break " type lines. I do not know who owns other companies like dfs or amazon, but they do not seem to care about the cheap Chinese made rubbish,that probably has a licence to build these things, sold to them by the original company.
