I am writing to express my profound disappointment regarding my recent refund request for a ticket purchased through Mytrip. I booked a flight for October 30, 2024, at a cost of £475. Upon arriving at check-in, I was told that I needed to update my surname through Mytrip.
After contacting Mytrip, they agreed to make the change for a fee of €10. However, I was shocked to find they charged me £1,345.25 instead. They acknowledged this error and promised a refund within 24 hours, asking for my depit card details.
Although they assured me the surname change had been processed and that the check-in desk had been notified, the desk never received any update, and my surname remained unchanged. This ultimately led to me missing my flight.
To make matters worse, I later discovered that I had been charged twice: £1,345.52 and £1,355.25, totaling £2,709.04.
On November 1st, Mytrip sent an email confirming a refund of £2,709.04 on that same day. Unfortunately, no money has been refunded.
When I reached out to Mytrip's customer service today (Monday the 4th of November), I was informed that my card was blocked and they requested a different card for the refund. During the call, I received messages from my bank indicating a payment request to SASTATICKET.PK for £466.27. This raised suspicions of potential fraud, as it was unrelated to my refund. I refused to provide any details related to these payment requests, suspecting it might be a scam.
I strongly urge all customers to avoid Mytrip, as they have not provided any assistance and seem intent on extracting more money. This has been the worst experience I’ve ever encountered. I missed a crucial flight to see my ill mother, and I am out £2,709.04. Please stay away from this company; they have taken my money and could easily do the same to you.
If any respected organisation is willing to assist, I would be happy to provide any relevant documents and correspondence.
