MARK HOLBROOK
What a nightmare. Last year we came to the show, and it was great, this year, it felt like it was half of what it was last year. And felt like a indoor market, selling non car related stuff. But that was not the worst bit. Getting there, we followed the signs for disabled parking, when we got to the gate we were told it was the wrong gate and we needed gate F, we drove about a mile and half, we got to gate F, and then we needed to drive about another half a mile inside the show, we drove past the gate that told us to go to gate F. I have a brain injury and all this confusion, driving from one gate to another was stressful. We followed the badly signed signposts just to be told wrong gate, after driving 11/2 miles we drove past the gate, which was open, and no cars coming though. That told us wrong gate. And they said VIPs only. Why were we told to drive this extra mileage and not use the gate, As said before I have a brain injury and limited mental capacity, when confused I get angry and go into fight or flight, your security were on steroids, I felt they were aggressive and not helpful at all. When asked why we had to drive the long way around, I was told that’s the way it is. This really spoiled our day; I was angry and took a while for me to calm down. I do not believe you understand hidden disability, I may look like I am normal, but I am not. I understand it’s a hard job to police an event like this, but do not need overzealous Security who are unhelpful. Due to this we will not be visiting next year, and I am sure a lot of people feel this way. We heard a lot of people complaining to the security about the hard line they were taking.
