I have spent approximately $35-$40,000 with Senior Tours. My experiences were always excellent with Senior Discovery Tours up until my last trip to Tanzania where I was abandoned by our guide when I was stopped at the airport. Our guide with a small group of approximately 12 people continued through leaving me and my travel partner on our own to deal with the airport authorities who searched me to the point of feeling violated and charged us an arbitrary tax for wooden carvings and stole items from my luggage. Great trip (except for the airport experience) but when I called the manager to express my concern around the guide abandoning us I was less than pleased with the response from the manager. So I likely will not be using Senior Discovery Tours. I would have given 5 out of 5 stars but my last experience specific to the guide dropped my rating to 1 star.
