In the lead up to a 2023 winter assignment in Ukraine and having been uncomfortable there the previous winter with the freeze thaw freeze nature of the weather I decided to invest in a Haakon parka. I could tell on opening the box that it was a cut above any of the numerous winter coats I had worn over the years. It kept me warm during the cold snaps and dry on the days snow and ice gave way to rain. I cannot rate it highly enough, to steal part of a famous advertising slogan. “ it did exactly what he said on the box.
