Everyone, everywhere, agrees these losers are scamming thieves, but I speak French and have discussed their behaviour with the SRPJ in France (Service Regional Judicial Police) and they kindly affirmed that an investigation was already underway. They think the scam is operated from Africa. Like me, if you have lost your hard earned money, go to your bank and request a refund under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.
