It took over 1 day to return my call. The person I gave my bank numbers to so the premium would be paid in full did not lead me to have a sense of confidence this was going to happen. I got an email from the insurer that my policy was cancelled. I called the insurer and it said my bank could not recognize my account. I gave the numbers to the insurer and she was able to process it immediately. Apparently IOA was unaware it had entered the wrong info and that let my account to lapse. Had I not been attentive to the email from the insurer, my account would have lapsed all the while I assumed it had been paid and the insurance was in force. I will pay the insurer direct going forward and find little or no need for an agent.
