So my + 80 year old Grandparents have been with Sky for 19 years...their box stopped working and we tried to have a look at why etc. tried all the usual resets etc. but no luck. Rang customer services (after 25 minutes on hold) and spoke to a lady who literally told me to do everything I had said I had already done, she then said ok the box needs replacing......obviously....but then began to say it would be another £10 a month BUT THEY ALREADY WERE PAYING £89!!!!! or £200 to upgrade and sort the box...I asked to speak to her manager or an IT specialist...she claimed she was the IT specialist...so I then asked to cancel because it's outrageous a customer of 19 years has to pay for a replacement box and a call out charge to fit the box......HORRIBLE COMPANY. I was shocked that such a big company would treat customers as such. When I asked the lady to be put through to the cancellation department she said ok, and did it immediately...just very sad and ridiculous considering the circumstances. Now with BT for £40 a month - happy days.
