Bought a retro SMEG toaster 6 months ago and it set on fire in the kitchen and blew the electrics. After the appliance was checked out it appears the elements are badly designed and touch, which caused the fire. SMEG make it difficult to make a complaint and aren’t interested that this is a design fault and continue selling these SMEG toasters regardless.
DO NOT BUY a SMEG toaster. They are a rubbish and DANGEROUS.
