We community volunteers use the excellent and cheap smsbroadcast service for a particular community notification service. This service is supplied on a not for profit annual subscription with any excess each year going back to the community. The service has been operating very successfully with great feedback from subscribers and maximum annual subsciption renewals. We live on an island with access to the mainland provided by a vehicular and pedestrian ferry. The base service is an advisory of unscheduled ferry outages with further use suplied to emergency services when requested. Importantly messages are alway delivered less than 15 seconds after they are initiated for up to 550 subscribers whose mobile phones are turned on and within mobile transmission reach. The service is easy to use and maintain and the smsbroadcast team are quick to respond to suggestions and help.
