I am diabetic and have been having pain behind the eyes and wanted an eye test . I am entitled to a yearly eye test free (I’m over 69) I booked a test with no problem but on the day I was told that if my prescription hasn’t changed I would be charged. The manager told me it would down to the optician if I should have a test using my 13 month old test as a reference whether I would need another test (I’ve heard nothing ). I know doesn’t make sense does it ? . If the optician hasn’t seen me how would he know . I felt quite humiliated in front of waiting customers and while I could well afford it I opted to walk . I said thank you and left. On reflection I felt a little cheated as I have gone no where else for over ten years and have spent a lot of money with them . They have always had a problem with the lenses fitting into the frames on my past new spectacles and even after correction they never get it right . I persevered with what I was given . The two pairs I have now have lenses that are not seated correctly. Enough .
