I visited the Saffron Walden branch of specsavers last week as the frame of my plastic glasses had snapped, resulting in the lens falling out. I spoke with the owner, Suba Thiara and requested a free repair or replacement. I was told that I would have to purchase a new frame as she would not give a free service. This is not acceptable.
Background info: I had purchased 4 pairs of glasses for £60.00, 2 for reading & 2 for driving, which included a spare for each. The reading frames are metal & the driving frames plastic. I believe the plastic frames are not fit for purpose as I had a previous breakage which were replaced with no charge. I am 79 years old and feel upset that I am being treated unfairly.
